Artists Statement:
Our surroundings appear as stage sets, quite unreal at times, lonely and beautiful, funny and strange, for a play it often seems no one is paying much mind. There is a kind of emptiness to our American landscape, and how we fit with our surroundings is something I try to address with my photography. I see my work as an ongoing search, and look for those places, and brief moments where elements seem to connect, and some elusive truth emerges. I take pictures of family, friends, and places mostly in and around Pennsylvania, which is where I was raised. My relationship to my home is something I am still trying to make sense of.
